$25,000 for that, with only 200hp, no thanks I'd rather have a WRX or EVO VIII. All I have to say is wait untill Lexus IS430 comes out.....Ownage!

Samson, I was talking about $25,000 for a 200hp TSX, If luxery is what they're after then why pay $25,000 for a underpowered Accord, when you can have a base model TL for about the same price.

its not all about hp... we dun even know the specs on the tsx yet but it is smaller and will handle much better than the accord making it sportier.. accords r marketed for families while the tsx is marketed for young buyers lookin for a entry level sedan

I think that everyone pretty much agrees that the TSX will be around 25-29k, especially with the Accord and subsequently the new TL/CLs being moved upmarket in terms of price and performance. Since the TSX is an Accord derivative meant for the US market I would find it difficult to believe that Acura/Honda would send it over here with any less HP than the NA Honda version. Look at other cars that have normal and luxury derivatives such as the A4/Passat Camry/ES or IS, etc... The luxury version uses the same engine (or similar) but always has more HP. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the RSX was in for a boost when it gets refreshed in 04/05. I think the TSX will come in at base 25k and top out around 29k w/o navi. This allows it some wiggle room between the current 03 Accord and the new 04 TL. In terms of performance it will again best the 03 Accord and probably end up slower than a TL. Again, I'm just basing this off a business standpoint. I mean, most ppl agree that Acura will have a tough time moving any TSXs if it comes at 200 hp with a sticker of 25k.

Damn boy, what is wrong with you? The Accord Sedan has only automatic transmission options on the V6 models, and the TSX will slot in the EX-V6 price range of the Accord but be smaller, lighter, have a 6 spd manual, and a high revving 4 banger. The TL is fawking huge compared to others in its class and is aimed toward luxury/value buyers. But we've been over this several times already. Hey, they should but a V8 in the RL.

Good points in the rest of your post...but again, it all comes down to marketing. Keep in mind this car has little in common with the USDM Accord outside of its interior. Everything rests on if Honda markets this as an upmarket Accord, a sporty Accord, a compact luxury sedan, a sporty luxury sedan...I can go on and on. But Honda would NOT bring this model over if they didn't have 100% confidence in it. Not to mention they have little to lose by bringint this over as a USDM model...but when was the last time Honda designed a product that was a failure?

Its amazing after years of people drooling for a Accord Type-R to come to the US, when the closest thing to come here that matches it, people starts to complain. :squint:

LOL, I never thought about it that way. But you're 100% correct. The TSX Type-S will probably have the next closest thing to the H22A in the ATR (K20A3)and will match the old ATR in size, handling characteristics, looks, acceleration, and braking most likely. Well, maybe not handling...it'll be badged as an Acura. But it'll be close.
