Who's gonna buy a TSX?
I am seriously considering getting a TSX if it should come out in the spring. I have been waiting for a 4 Door compact sedan from Acura for the longest time. This one has the makings of being a best seller.
If the price is around 25K fully loaded....I mean how can anyone pass a deal up like that? The looks are nice too, but not great.... So how many of you would actually consider getting the TSX? And does anyone think that the TSX is a poor man's 3 series or C-class? |
Well, 25k-29k most likely. Depending on engine.
I consider the TSX to be a direct competitor to the Audi A4 1.8T, Volvo S60, Saab 9-3, and every other $25,000-$30,000 entry level luxury car. I consider nothing to be a poor man's anything, that's asinine. Whatever you can afford and want is your thing, don't look at it as a poor man's expensive car. The problem is, it's FWD. And it's got the same interior as the Accord. And a V6 won't fit in its engine bay. I expect it to have 2.0L and 2.4L engine options, rating at 200HP/142ft-lb and 240HP/170ft-lb. This is gonna mainly be a smaller, more nimble Accord...I'm interested to see how exactly they're going to market. Honda sold 60,000 TL's last year and 400,000 Accords...the market is certainly there. I expect sales to meet production. The success of this car depends on whether or not they market it as an entry level luxury sedan or an entry level sports sedan. |
Good show Chris. I would comment, but...well, Goddamn, I'm too lazy to. :fawk:

I would be all over it if I was five years older and had already been through college................:(

If the TSX has a 6spd, LSD, & HIDS in the 2.4L I would consider it for my next car. The TSX is going to need something to set itself apart from the Accord, otherwise I think it is not going to sell well.

i think a tsx would be a good replacement for our 2k1 civic sedan in year 2003

Joel, if you get that I betcha a billion dollars you'll vote for it in 2004 COTY :p |
Originally posted by 98CoupeV6 I doubt LSD, but the rest are givens. I agree, it definetly needs some special shiet to set it apart. I wonder what Honda has up its sleeve? Joel, if you get that I betcha a billion dollars you'll vote for it in 2004 COTY :p |
My older sister will soon buy a new sedan, and I keep encouraging her to get the new TSX, and she likes the look of the Japanese Accord Euro R with body kits. She would buy it if it's between $23000 and $26000, and if it is incorporated with a at least 2.4L I4 engine, because 2.0L is too small we think. I hope she will get it.
