i'm talking about the utility, not the specs. just look at how usable each car is. the fit has a very versatile interior, which is very utilitarian. whereas the xA is just a sub-compact hatch. again, scions are all about the image.

From what i hear u can swap the K series motors for the Stock L15 that is in there. Now that would be a race car.

i don't see your point. in general, the element has very little to do with the xB. the element was even released before the xB in the states.

the xA and the fit are in the same segment, but that's about all they have in common. to say that one is copied from the other is pretty ignorant. the xA is not the first sub compact four-door hatch in america, japan, or anywhere.

So if I am understanding you correctly, because the Fit seats fold forward and backward makes it a totally different car? Yes, it is more useful. But the Fit is also "just a sub-compact hatch." And have you seen the website for the Honda Fit? Colorful and upbeat huh? "The Fit is Go." Looks like they are marketing to the younger crowd huh? Looks like an image thing. The same image as Scions.

The Honda Fit/Jazz offers unique features because Honda put the fuel tank underneath the front seats, not in the rear axle area like most auto designers put the fuel tank. As a result, this frees up a tremendous amount of space in the back seat area; it also allowed Honda to put in what they call the Magic Seat system, where you can fold forward the seatbacks forward for a completely flat large cargo area or fold up the back seat bottoms for a large, high-height center cargo area. This is why I sometimes describe the Fit/Jazz as the grocery mom car. h:

the Fit's design also gives it greater safety than other subcompacts as you build the safety cage that not only to protect the occupants but also the fuel tank which can cause a devastating explosion

no, you aren't understanding me correctly. the fit is not a "totally different car" - and i'm wondering where it is you think i said that. how many times to i have to say it?? i'm talking about the utility.

being marketed towards young people is one thing, which honda definately is doing that with the fit. but any idiot should be able to see the difference in style between the scion brand image and anything made by honda. scion's brand image is anything but "colorful and upbeat." haven't you seen the TV commercials, magazine or radio ads? scion uses an trendy urban or underground theme, with techno and hip-hop music, and by showing off how many ricer mods you can add to your car. they even release their own music cds, full of "hip-hop, funk, and soul to reggae, rock, and electronic" music. how is that the same as the fit website?

I guess, we'd just have to agree to disagree. I believe both cars are very similar in many terms and should be directly compared with each other and both are marketed towards gen Y. The Fit has the advantage in terms of features at the moment but let's see what happens once the xA gets the Yaris makeover. At least that's what I think the Yaris 5-door will be when it comes out.
