I dont know if anybody read this yet but there is some information here about the new engine in the SLK 350. I'm quiet impress about the engine of this Mercedes Benz roadster...

Whaaa...? I never ever liked anything about the SLK, and same goes for this one. Adröck is right. They tried waaaaaaaay too hard. Oh yeah, the SC430 called and said that's a rather familiar roof line.

"Look for Mercedes’ new 3.5-liter V6 and six-speed manual gearbox to debut on the 2005 SLK when the next-generation two-seater arrives this year. The dohc four-valve-per-cylinder engine should produce about 268 hp and 253 lb-ft of torque, which compares favorably to the current 3.2-liter, single-cam, three-valve V6 engine’s 215 hp and 229 lb-ft. The ’05 SLK will offer auto and manual gearboxes, including the new six-speed manual."

Does this mean that the 3.2L engine currently found in most MB models will be dropped? The 3.5L is worlds above the 3.2L in performance, so I wonder how much more of a premium say a C350 will be compared to a C320.
I have no clue what the plans are for the new 3.5 liter V6 other than that it's going into the SLK. Maybe they'll phase out the 3.2 liter 3-valve but who knows if and when that will occur.
