I never really understood the concept of the SLK. I mean sure the roof is nice and it's got the Mercedes name behind it to make it reasonably snobby. I just think something as impractical as this should at least be sporting in nature. It's too small to be a proper GT like the SL, but it's nowhere near as good a sports car as the Boxster or Z4, or hell even the TT. Well, maybe not the TT.

But anyway it just doesn't quite compute with me for whatever reason as to why anyone would buy an SLK aside from the novelty/usefulness of the roof. Now with the Lexus SC430 and the SL going hardtop there are other, better GT hardtop convertibles so the only reason (in my eyes at least) to get an SLK is for the roof and the price being less than those other two cars.
