Default car wont start

Hey guys/girls I was driving my car yesturday (Monday) and everything was o.k. but after it was sitting for a few hours I went to go out again and the car wont start. When I turn the key the starter kicks on and the engine starts to turn but it doesn't even chug or try to kick over. I went out this morning to try again and fix it and I was able to get it to kick over for a few seconds and then it died. Before it died it was able to store a dtc of 43. This has to do with the fuel supply system so I checked into the pump and I can here it kick on when I turn the key to the on position and I also checked the main relay and that checked out to be good also. Lastly I went and pulled a plug to see if I could smell some gas and I could. First thing tomorrow I'm going to change the filter to see if that's it but this isn't even up to its maintanance time yet. So my question is this, if I go and change the filter and it still wont start what should be my next step in resolving this problem? Sorry about this being so long but I wanted to give all the details so that someone can hopefully help me. I also posted this in the engine tech forum but I have always had better luck in this forum. TIA

i know the main three things a motor needs to turn over is fuel, spark, and timing. if you have access to a timing gun, check your distributor timing. check spark plugs and wires to see if they are in good condition. it could also be internals of the distributor. when it cranks, does it crank slow or in a weak way? if so, then it could very well be a charging system problem. check the cables of the battery to see if they're secured to the battery and not corroded. and check the voltage of the battery. do those to get them out of the way. just get back and let us know on the progress.

oops, my bad, since you said the code is dealing with your fuel system, then, it may very well be a clogged fuel filter. just keep us updated.

Well I also posted this in the engine tech section also and have had a response. Even though I had the code of 43 (fuel supply system) this wasn't the problem. To find out my timing belt went out and I needed a new one. What a bit** this was to find out. Well I got it fixed and still having problems but the shop I took it to fix the belt turned out to be real a**es, so I'm taking it to acura tomorrow.
