Default car wont start

Hey guys/girls I was driving my car yesturday (Monday) and everything was o.k. but after it was sitting for a few hours I went to go out again and the car wont start. When I turn the key the starter kicks on and the engine starts to turn but it doesn't even chug or try to kick over. I went out this morning to try again and fix it and I was able to get it to kick over for a few seconds and then it died. Before it died it was able to store a dtc of 43. This has to do with the fuel supply system so I checked into the pump and I can here it kick on when I turn the key to the on position and I also checked the main relay and that checked out to be good also. Lastly I went and pulled a plug to see if I could smell some gas and I could. First thing tomorrow I'm going to change the filter to see if that's it but this isn't even up to its maintanance time yet. So my question is this, if I go and change the filter and it still wont start what should be my next step in resolving this problem? Sorry about this being so long but I wanted to give all the details so that someone can hopefully help me. I also posted this in the engine tech forum but I have always had better luck in this forum. TIA
