bad gas mileage
I noticed the gas milage falling off in my car so i decided to go down to kragen and pick up some valvoline fuel system cleaner. It was like $8 and said only have to do it once a year. Im on my first tank after the cleaner was added and the cars seems more powerful but could be just my backside fooling me. Now im at about 200 miles with half a tank still left. Before it would get about 250 before i had to refill.

yeah fuel cleaning system will help alot.... i know its not the same car but back in the day my old caddy (pimp mobile lol) was getting like 8-10mpg lol cleaned the fuel injectors and fuel filter ect and it shot back up to like 15-17 (i know it seems like **** but im just giving an example lol) someone also told me once if none of that works u might have to actually just replace the injectors... try fuel system cleaning... not much to lose, real cheap..
I'm going to get some fuel cleaner after work. Might as well since I have to fill up tomorrow morning anyway. I've noticed my car hasn't had a very smooth accelleration or deceleration. My fuel filter hasn't been changed in 105,xxx miles so I'm sure that's the culprit. I do have a question about changing it. Will letting the car sit overnight be long enough to let the gas drain out of the filter? I don't feel like catching myself on fire first thing sat. morning
. Hopefully replacing all this crap will help. I'll let you guys know if it worked. Thanks for the help

I replaced the fuel filter and dist. cap today. I also used a fuel system cleaner. I tried to replace the dist. rotor but the screw was too stripped. Gotta figure out a wayt to get that off. the fuel filter was tougher than it should have been. when I went to put the new one on I dropped the bold that clamps it in place into the engine :slap: . good thing i found another one that fit. anyway, I now have 100 miles and I haven't even used 1/4 of a tank of gas. I guess the filter just needed changing. thanks for all the help
The hanging brake is usually one of two things:
1- Messed up piston - if your piston inside the caliper is not coming out straight it can get stuck at an angle and bind "hang" a brake, you usually just have to replace the piston seal as this is usually what causes the problem, make sure to have a piece of fuel hose handy when you remove the caliper to block the brake line, and have plenty of fluid and a buddy around for bleeding them after you fix the piston
2 - Messed up bar thingies - I know my description is not technical but the pins that connect the moving part of your caliper to the stationary one bind up all of the time, sometimes intermittently, go buy new pins from carquest for 6 bucks and buy some high temp brake grease and lube those b*tches up good, it is also a good idea to clean the guides (tubes that they slide into) with a large pipe cleaner and some undiluted simple green, then blow them out with compressed air (or the nearest girlfriend, cause you know she's got plently of that) and put some grease in them too, i know it all sounds a little phallic but it gets the job done.
If anyone has questions, just reply
