Default Bad Gas Mileage

I am having a problem I think and hopefully someone could help me out here.
I purchased a 1990 Honda Accord DX about a month ago and just recently it has ben geting poor gas mileage. before I purchased it it was mainly driven on the highway and now it is more in the city.
I know it will get less MPG in the city but I went about 32 miles and used 1/4 tank of gas. I know thats not normal.

I did do a full clean of the engine compartment so I am thinking maby I messed up a sensor and it is not mixing the fuel right or something. This is the only thing I can think of. I drives just fine.

If anyone could help I would apreciate it.

On another note, Just yesterday I installed a CAI on the car and Its working just fine but it pings a little @ high RPM's. I did reset the ECU. Is it possible for the timing to be off now that there is an intake on it???
(The gas mileage problem whas there before I put on the intake).

did you change your fuel filter and clean your fuel injectors? Most of the time those 2 things will hurt your gas mileage. other than that check out your o2 sensor.

I did not change the filter or clean the injectors.
I will have to check the O2 sensor. Thank you.
