16 and 18 is the same price bracket with State Farm, and when I was 18 I paid a few bucks over 200 a month. This is under my own plan with no multi-car benefits, and none of that other goofy crap.

$200 comprehensive
$500 standard collision

And then all the other stuff Michigan requires.

Shop around before you get screwed on insurance.

Thanks qtiger. Yeah my parents will deal with insurance and I'll have to pay for it. I'm not too worried about it except I need a job so I have more money to get a Teg. I'm trying to save up 5 grand for a 94 LS. I have 1 grand so far (all without a job). As long as I save enough money so I'm not stuck with a car payment and car insurance payment every month, I'll have enough money for a few mods every month or two.

GSR all the way. You will regret getting the LS if you don't boost it if you are looking for power. I love my GSR. There is no comparison between the LS and the GSR.

I really won't regret getting an LS and not a GSR. I'd rather have a GSR of course, but insurance would be too much for me, not to mention the car being a few grand more than the LS. I also feel the LS is a better platform for modifications. It is capable of being a killer sleeper. I won't boost now but maybe after college I'll boost it, or just end up buying a GSR. VTEC is awfully desirable...

Try them both and see which one fits you better for the price..

lots of people say different things

"GSR is not that much better than an LS"
"no comparison between the GSR and the LS"
"for the difference you can turbo your LS"

really, it all depends on the buyer end of story. Not everyone wants to deal with maintaining and installing a turbo.. Not everyone wants to rev above 6,000rpm durring daily driving, not everyone wants to mod their car, etc

From my driving experiances with LS,GSR there is a noticable difference, especially above 6k.. but its often overstated. The extra performance is nice, and reving high is lots fun, but you are basicly talking about half a second difference in the quarter mile.

Its hard to get good opinions from a messageboard like this, because GSR owners want to feel like they made the right choice in spending the extra money for the performance, and the LS owners want to feel like they have a good car even if they don't have the more powerful engine.

Either way you pick a good car, both cars have great performance for the price. The GSR costs more and performs better.. the LS costs less and performs less.

I don't want to feel better knowing I bought a GSR. I feel it when I'm in 2nd gear at 6k in the mountians, I feel it on every on ramp and on every merge, I especially feel it over 110mph. Sure its only a half second on the quarter mile but I don't do quarters and I don't live by my timeslips. I live by the grin on my face when I'm done driving. If you can afford it, get the GSR. If you can't...get a 240sx. HAHA. (Because that car is bizomb compared to a LS)

And tell your dealer to go fsk himself...13k no haggle...what bs

If you don't want to feel better about buying a GSR, why did you feel the need to post about how it was a good choice?

Again,
it all depends on the buyer end of story

get the gsr. VTEC is the greatest thing ever and with the LS you will waste a lot of time and money trying to get it.

Who said he needed performance? He might just be looking for a nice, reliable daily driver that can still go when he needs it to. While I like the GSR, the LS would be a better value, and I'm pretty sure you can get at least the GSR for a better price.

Again,

because the GSR is better than the LS. seems simple to me.
