So, you're getting fuel and you're getting spark, and its still not starting?? The only thing thats really left is the timing belt.

I put the stock back on and still had the same outcome. . . Since I got the motor all I have changed is the Pulley, Fuel rail and the Cam gears. . . Also had to replace the throttle body . . . nothing major. . .

My buddy says we will have to check the timing, but said the car needs to start for us to see if the timing is off. . . is that true or can it be checked with the car in the situation it is in now? ? ?

what year is your car, and what year is the motor?

i wouldnt count out the differences between OBDIIa and OBDIIb.

some parts fit and use the same connectors but they wont function the same.

My car is a 96 LS Sedan Automatic, the motor in it now is Bottom half 99, top half I think 94(it has a 93 stamp on it, so I figured it was made in 93, but its from a 94 integra, the guy at the junk yard told me it would work fine with the bottom as I bought the whole 99 engine from him). . . Long story, but the 99 head was sent out for work and never came back, so got the 94/93 to get the car running again. . . you think this would cause a problem? ? ?

yes it could be.

anything connected to the fuel injectors and distrubitors MUST match the OBD2a (96-98) that the rest of the harness is.

so 96 injectors, 96 distributor. go from there.

Well the intake manifold and all of the sensors are off of my 96 and the fuel rail is aftermarket. . . The distributor is off of the 96 as well, but added the MSD cap and exterior coil. . .

I would pull the valve cover and check the cam timing, just to be sure. A few other things you could check; is the IAC plugged in tightly, TB gasket in the right way(I've seen it happen). It won't start if you give it some throttle?

The open port on your throttle body, I'm assuming that is a coolant port?

Also open for question; does anybody think the paint on the crank gear and sensor might cause a problem being a Hall sensor?

Will have to check the timing and will look at the IAC and check the TB Gasket . . . No, it wont start when I give it throttle . . . Not sure what the open port is, went to junk yard to check, but didnt see it on any automatics there, so I may have a throttle body from a manual. . .

As for the painted parts, they have both been replaced, that was the slop work of another guy, but he was careless, because I had 2 of just about everything, so they are no longer an issue. . .

arent there two sensors on the intake manifold with the exact same plug? i forgot which ones, but if they're switched i heard it causes havoc like your engine not starting.
