Black smoke is usually caused by unburnt fuel

Okay. . .I also have a transmission leak. . . Can anyone tell me the main spots a tranny can leak from, so that I can double check everything. . . I didnt put the engine and tranny together, so there may have been something overlooked. . . Let me know. . .

The black smoke means it's running very rich. Check to make sure the new TPS is set correctly.

I set it correctly, it was to be set at .45v, maybe its just build up from the car sitting for a year without an engine in it? ? ? I need to check my tranny, its leaking and im not sure from where. . . what would be a tranny leak spot? ? ?

Possibly. Could also be the computer needs to learn the setup. Are you running a cat?

Most likely it would be leaking from where the halfshafts go into the tranny. Also from the drain and filler plugs.

Yes, I have the stock Cat on. . . Stock header, stock cat, Aftermarket exhaust . . .

How or rather what would I have to do to stop the leak? ? ? is it easy or would I have to take it to a shop? ? ?

Repair options depend on where it's leaking from, any ideas? If it's on the tranny; it's either an axle seal, pan gasket(or drain plug if equipped), pump seal, faulty TC, or a sensor O-ring. If possible, wipe off the bottom of the trans and let it sit over a piece of cardboard for the night. It will kind of give you an idea where it's leaking from.

it looked like it is coming from the top of the tranny, where the tranny joint bolt is,. . . it doesnt leak if the car is not running. . . it is not the drain plug as I just did a drain and fill yesterday. . .it seems to be near where the engine and tranny connect. . .

I couldn't see it coming out of the split at the top, the bottom maybe. If it's on the top, I would check the lock-up solenoid, and the cooler line fittings.
