Maybe we could get some engine tech guys in here, lol.

My original point was that a B18b is perfectly fine for making big power, and that the engine swap you recommended was a bit tougher of a swap (or so I thought). Either way, the torque of the H22A would be a welcome upgrade for any Integra owner. But there's only so much power that you can put down on your two front-wheels without resorting to non-streetable tricks and upgrades.

Yes of course, but the title of the post was "what possible engine swaps"...and my reply was in reguards to the guy the asked for specs on the h22.. So i gave him the specs that i knew of ..off the top of my head.. and i told him what he could possibly do to make it fit..

i agree ..i wouldnt choose an h22 in my car.. too much of a pain in the rear.. i defenitely reccomend it for people that actually want to build an all track racer.. Thats not my case, i drive my car everyday..
If the guy didnt ask for specs on the h22 ..i wouldnt have even mentioned it as a swap.. i would have said "ls, gsr turbo or n/a type r"

there are tons of swaps you can do that i would reccomend also.. it really all depends on your power and reliablity goals.

Now if you do want to get particular about it, I suggest consulting Honda's information directly. There is no such thing as just an H22, they are all H22A.

4th gen: http://www.honda.co.jp/HOT/ModelData...i_vtec_sy.html
5th gen: http://www.honda.co.jp/HOT/ModelData..._data/sir.html

Every H-series transmission ever produced has a hydraulically actuated clutch, so that point is totally moot.

The Japanese-market 4th gen Prelude Si VTEC came optional with four wheel steering, which included an LSD in the package. This is not a 220 hp motor. The Japanese-market 5th gen Prelude SiR S spec came with the same LSD transmission and 220 hp. The Japanese-market Prelude Type-S came with 220 hp and ATTS, no LSD.

So.

You want 220 hp and an LSD, you need the drivetrain out of the Prelude SiR S spec.

That is all.

I'm this close to deleting half the posts in this thread.

Blah blah blah, can't be found, blah blah blah, I got buddies in Japan, blah blah blah, yackety schmackety. H22 this, H22A that, blech.

Ugh. Shut up.

My problem is with people who present their idle speculation is fact. If you would like to discuss the matter privately that is fine. Otherwise, you're not funny. Any further replies in this thread not relating to the original topic will be deleted.
