Default Integra Headlight Bulb

I briefly checked the search function on the site and didn't get any promising results, so I guess I'll post. I'm currently running Sylvania Siverstar Ultra low beams and regular Silverstar high beams in my car. They look pretty good from a asthetic point of view and do a fine job illumintaing the road at night. I decided to purchase the "Ultra" version of the bulb soon after they were released to try and take advantage of their advertised longer life and brighter light compared to the original Silverstar. I've been running them for some time now, and they do seem to last longer than the original Silverstar's, but don't seem to be any brighter or illumintate the road any better from what I've seen compared to the originals. I've burned through several sets of the originals and the Ultra's have lived up to their longer life claims in my vehicle at least. The only major downfall is how they perform in really inclement weather, scattering the light all over the f*cking place. The reason for my post is I was wanting to know if anyone has used the PIAA Super Plasma GTX 5000K bulb that's being sold by TireRack and numerous other internet sites. I'm considering using this bulb in my low beams if it can live up to the hype. I'm looking for a bulb that will produce a more bluish/purplish asthetic color while still providing the same or better light output and road illumination as the Silverstar's. What I'm not looking for is a "Cool Blue" type of bulb that looks decent on the car but absolutely sucks at providing a usable, dependable lighting source on the road and objects in front of the vehicle. Has anyone used the aformentioned Super Plasma GTX with much success? Does anyone have a picture of the road light output or a shot of the front of the vehicle with the lights on with stock projector lenses. Does anyone recommend any other brand or style of bulb? I'm not looking for an HID kit at this time, and yes, I know, that would be the best bet for what I'm looking for in a bulb. I'm attaching pics of what my current setup looks like. The clear picture is from a Hi-Res digi camera. The purple light looking pic is from a low-res cell phone camera. Feel free to post pics or respond with comments or suggestions.

-Thanks!

I haven't tried the PIAA, but Syvania's have always been good for me. I'm using right now an eBay HID kit and they're fine. Cutoff is pretty good, and there's very little glare, and I have 10K. I will be going to 6K soon.

As long as your lights are angled low, they'll be pretty good and not blind oncoming drivers.

pretty much any PIAA bulb is going to be high quality, but I believe what you're suffering from is just the color of the bulb you favor. those blue/purple tinted bulbs (like the plasma, silverstar, ultra etc) are never going to be that impressive in bad weather.

In all the cars I've owned, I've gone through silverstars, hella's silverstar equivalent (i forgot what its called but tirerack sells them), piaa, raybrig, plug and play HID kits, OEM HID's, and probably more.

just in my current integra alone - its gone from
stock 9006 philips bulbs
9006 philips extended output
somewhere in the line up I got SI-VTEC foglights with yellow lenses.
plug and play HID with 6k bulbs
" " with 5k bulbs

and now currently on a HID retrofit with TSX projectors and philips 4300k D2S bulbs

since i work a graveyard shift, good lighting is very high on the importance list for me, so I've been through a lot of setups.

i was absolutely disgusted with the 6k HID bulbs. it was a marginal improvement over halogen, at best. when it would rain, i might as well have driven with the parking lights as my guides.

so I got the 5k HID bulbs, and it was HUGE improvement. however, i would still need to turn on the foglights just to be able to see the road better.

it goes without saying that the retrofit offers the best output and light distribution, the color of 4300k is perfect for me, and I dont even need the foglights anymore.

i dont think there is a Halogen bulb solution that will cure your situation, especially since you're already at the "top" of the list when it comes to bulb choice.

customlightz.com i think it is sells retrofits, and specr is the tsk projector retrofit still set up with an hid kit? lemme know because i want to put hids in the car but with stock projectors, it would be pointless, dont know much about retrofitting but i heard s2k projectors are nice as well
