Default Help with 96 LS Moonroof

The moonroof in my 1996 Acura Integra LS will only go back and not forward.

I opened the roof and replaced the motor, but the problem remains the same.

Does anyone have a possible solution for this?

The dealer said it would cost $800 to open the roof and find the problem. Thanks.

umm maby you wanna check the connections behind the dash to make sure they are secure (like the open and close connections) and then go to something bigger like taking your headliner out to replace the motor and stuff. when you press to close it can you hear the motor tryint if not and all of the connections are good you might have fried a wire or maby there is a fuse on that wire that is blown have you checked all of the fuses if not do so. this shouldnt be too hard to fix and its not worth 800 dollars to fix. worst gets to worst go and get a whole new moon roof for 300 dollars or something lots cheaper and you got a whole new moon roof and you can sell you stock one

I believe the connections at the switch are working because when the liner was off and the switch was on close, I could hear a faint electrical sound coming from the motor. All fuses are ok. I spoke with the dealership again and the responded that it may be the cable guides malfunctioning - which requires removal of the sunroof. I'm not sure what cable guides are, but thanks for the help.

I have the same car with the same problem. Macross81, did you ever get that sorted out? What was wrong with it?

Also, I have an additional problem: the tool to manually close the moonroof is missing from my car. Is there anything else I can use to shut the roof? Where can I find one of those tools?

Thanks guys.

Check to see if the springs are in their retainers, you should have one on each side. If you need to slide it forward again you can do so manually with the crank.

i dont havee a diagram in front of me but, you could actuall operate the motor backward by switching the wires from b+ to ground----switch it to ground to b+ and the motor will work the other way.

just a suggestion.

if the motor worked that way, the problem is something else. wiring perhaps or maybe mechanical but not the motor
