Integra Headlight Bulb
I briefly checked the search function on the site and didn't get any promising results, so I guess I'll post. I'm currently running Sylvania Siverstar Ultra low beams and regular Silverstar high beams in my car. They look pretty good from a asthetic point of view and do a fine job illumintaing the road at night. I decided to purchase the "Ultra" version of the bulb soon after they were released to try and take advantage of their advertised longer life and brighter light compared to the original Silverstar. I've been running them for some time now, and they do seem to last longer than the original Silverstar's, but don't seem to be any brighter or illumintate the road any better from what I've seen compared to the originals. I've burned through several sets of the originals and the Ultra's have lived up to their longer life claims in my vehicle at least. The only major downfall is how they perform in really inclement weather, scattering the light all over the f*cking place. The reason for my post is I was wanting to know if anyone has used the PIAA Super Plasma GTX 5000K bulb that's being sold by TireRack and numerous other internet sites. I'm considering using this bulb in my low beams if it can live up to the hype. I'm looking for a bulb that will produce a more bluish/purplish asthetic color while still providing the same or better light output and road illumination as the Silverstar's. What I'm not looking for is a "Cool Blue" type of bulb that looks decent on the car but absolutely sucks at providing a usable, dependable lighting source on the road and objects in front of the vehicle. Has anyone used the aformentioned Super Plasma GTX with much success? Does anyone have a picture of the road light output or a shot of the front of the vehicle with the lights on with stock projector lenses. Does anyone recommend any other brand or style of bulb? I'm not looking for an HID kit at this time, and yes, I know, that would be the best bet for what I'm looking for in a bulb. I'm attaching pics of what my current setup looks like. The clear picture is from a Hi-Res digi camera. The purple light looking pic is from a low-res cell phone camera. Feel free to post pics or respond with comments or suggestions.
