it could have made the sound if you were just driving it cuz it becomes under pressure. there should be coolant up to the filler neck. i would recomend honda coolant from the dealer if you havent left allready, don't get the orange stuff and should be non-silacate so it is safe for aluminum.
when you get home touch the upper and lower radiator hoses and make sure the are both hot.

in my previous car, the needle would point to 12:00
in my gsr, the needle points to 11:00

can any other gsr's confirm this?
thats normal. with redline water wetter, and a small vent at the back of the engine bay, i got my temp to stay quite a bit less than normal.

Sometimes you're resevoir can have coolant in it but the radiator is actually low. Mine is kinda gay like that sometimes i dunno why. Maybe you should just flush the entire system to make sure you got the correct amount of coolant. Or you can just get a aftermarket race radiator and you wont have to worry about your fan coming on My fan rarely comes on. In the mornings the temp is about 1/5-1/4 way. When I then hit traffic and go to stop and go it goes to normal temps a little under half way. Wonder how it would be if I didnt have that damn intercooler blocking most of the air flow.

i think its your thermostat, you can try replacing it, cost like $7 if you get one at like kragen or something.

OK I start with hitting Kragens and buying A/F and a thermo. If A/F not solve problem I go to Thermo, if that not solve problem, I'll just take it to the guy that does my major services. Thanks Guy, I keep you posted

Have you tried lookin at the wires makin sure there is no short in them to the fan? Just a thought...not sure if it'll work but it might help to do that.

I would suggest the above as well (fan switch issue) since you seem to only have problems at a full stop (hence no speed to allow air to move through the radiator).
