hows a clutch bad for a tranny? because it grabs too hard, so a softer grabbing clutch (such as a organic exedy) will be more gentle. the lightened flywheel, does make for easier revving, but the only way you can tell if u like it or not is just to drive one first hand. thats why i went with the streetlite, not the prolite.

I'm just going by what I've heard about the ACT, whatever though. On a side note, would a lighter flywheel benefit with a turbo setup as well as it would for an NA setup?

I have Act HDSS and fly wheel. Seems to be holding up for now. I only have 130 torque though, I'd imagine you'd have quite a bit more with your turbo setup!

ACT > Exedy any day of the week.

A lighter flywheel barely makes the car any more difficult to drive. You won't even notice it is there after 5 minutes of driving. You will see better throttle response and it will be a lot easier to rev match to downshift. The pros definitely outweigh the cons.

A lightweight flywheel is beneficial on all setups, IMO. I am running the 8.8lb Prolite on my setup and I am glad I didn't go any heavier.

That's because everyone who says that gets the Xtreme pressure plate, which is Xtreme overkill. That and they don't know how to drive, and end up bending main shafts and shift forks.

Gotcha guys, now what clutch and flywheel combo would be better for a budget, I'm not looking to spend more than 400 on the two. Just a lighter flywheel and better-than-stock clutch.

This is a fair question and one that we all face eventually. For a daily driver, stock-to-mild setup, how about the Exedy clutch w/ Fidanza aluminum flywheel @ 7.5 lbs? And for those that believe that ACT > Exedy, would you explain why?

Make that an Exedy Stage 1 clutch and you'll have nice upgraded clutch that fits most budgets and is suitable for daily drives, I have this clutch with a stock resurfaced flywheel. See the deal below that Rocknrolltech found for us:
