Light weight flywheels
I'm gonna be having a new clutch put in soon, and decided I might aswell just do the flywheel too. I was looking at an ACT streetlight. Any thoughts on these? I read somewhere that you don't wanna go under 14-or 12 pounds or they may shatter, the street light wieghs 12.8. Any Truth to this? Any recommendations?
I wouldn't worry about it shattering, that's more a concern with lightened factory flywheels. You'll hear opposite ends of the spectrum on this, I love my 8lb Fidanza. The power seems to always been there, it climbs through gears faster as well.

Anybody have real knowledge like pros/cons? Im wondering too because the laws of physics say by taking away weight from a reciprocating assembly will not only allow it to be spun faster, but consequently to slow faster. if your playing around in a gear and let off the gas one would think the "engine brake" would jerk your head off. Soooo....anybody experience this?
A lighter flywheel give you less bottom end and more top end. Grenading comes from mis alignment in most cases, but I have heard otherwise as well...as long as it is name brand you should be ok.
I just hand my clutch done today. Exedy OEM replacement and 8lb fidanza flywheel. I feel a difference in pedal feel but that is all for now. In about 488 miles I let you know what I think completely.
