anybody else that might think its something else? I just changed my spark plugs and distributor cap w/ rotor... i dont really know how to change the fuel filter and the pcv valve is a bitch to get to... so i guess im going to have to take it to a mechanic cause its really getting annoying...
This is a common symptom when the modulator in the distributor begins to go tits up. Eventually you'll be driving and the car will just die and then fail to start.
so does this mean i have to get my distributor replaced or what? I should just take it to a mechanic to get it checked out then...
The modulator is inside the distributor. If you replace it your car still does the same thing then it is best to replace the whole thing. Then take it back and say I didn't use this, I just decided I'd rather buy a new distributor from a friend for cheap...
The Term we use here at honda is malfuntion indicator light, also known as MIL
The question was, what does DTC stand for, not what does MIL stand for? Who told you that MIL stands for "malfunction" indicator light, Germaine? If you want to get technical with me then let's get technical. Not only did you spell "malfunction" wrong but the acronym you're referring to is MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP, also known as MIL.
So go back to Honda tomorrow and tell them what you learned newb.

Reason: Spoonfed thinks he knows what he's talking about because he works at Honda now.

He wasn't referring to me. We was just reiterating what I said and I was correct.
Anyways.....back on topic. h:
Sounds like the ignitor is about to take a shit. Before you do anything, pick up a multimeter and test the ignitor to make sure that is the culprit. If you don't want to do that, just get a new distributor off ebay for like $160 and replace the whole damn thing.
