Subframe Tearout

Eventually, the damage would threaten the structural integrity of the rear suspension mounts. It is an issue requires prompt action to repair.
I'm quite surprised that the Comptech bar did this. IMO, it illustrates the need for some sort of reinforcement when runnning any aftermarket sway bar. :hs:

I talked with an Engineer at Comptech today. He said if I find a good welder it can be patched up for sure.
I've also talked with the guy that engineered the ASR Brace and he suggests the same.
So I've got to get it to the welder now.

yeah springs will have a huge effect on the likely hood of this happening. I put my ITR sway bar on a week before i upgraded the srpings but i didn't hook up one of the endlinks until I had the stiffer springs.

stiffer springs will help a lot, We've more than doubled our rear rates so that means that for the same bumps the wheel is going to move a lot less (relative to the car).
you guys almost jinxed me today, they tore up the pavement on this one stretch except for the manholes, which now stick up like 3-4 inches. I was following a truck and didn't see one of them and i hit it with the left side going like 35, the back end made made a weird croak noise and kinda hopped a little to the side. I looked over it really close and luckily it looked ok.

Well I pulled off the bar, so at least I can drive it.
So what happened was it tore out the welded nut, then the bar wanted to get pulled down, it couldn't so it started to tear it from the top and buckle at the bottom.
Here is the only pic that came out, I have to raise it up again:
