duration is bad for a turbo tho. THe ideal turbo cam will have suepr high lift with short duration..

duration leaks boost thru overlap. You can dial out the overlap but that will throw other things out of wack, such as valves staying open too long.

Common myth. Leaked boost just spills out and hits the turbo, which gives you more boost.

Look at HKS cams for DSMs. They've got 269 or 272 degrees of duration, depending on stage.

Then why are all of the turbo cams for our cars short duration and high lift?

Also the turbo creates so much backpressure, that exhaust can revert back into the cylinder from excessive overlap.

I dont think leaked boost can spool the turbo like you think it can... i think the cons outweigh the pros.

Because they're designed for streetability and gas mileage. All the turbo cams on the market are midline cams.

Where do you think leaked boost goes?

I have a question about compression and psi. Let's say you have a b18c1 with 8 psi and a b18c5 with 6 psi from a turbocharger. Let's pretend they're making the same amount of power because the c5 has higher compression. Which is better? Is one or the other causing more stress on the engine?? Thnx.

The type-r will have higher cylinder pressures, making it worse.

I would have to go and say that the B20 is better than both of those for boost. And if you don't want the B20 then go with the B18A or B18B. VTEC doesn't react as well with boost, the non vtec motors have a slightly higher displacement, and they have lower compression. Much better for boosting in my opinion.
