It's very involved. Look in the DIY section for my clutch install guide.

I was just going to start a thread like this. So the set up on my gsr (intake and exhaust) nothing worth writing home about...Anyways, the car has about 89k miles on it and I am starting to feel an intermittent slip every now and again and I know what that means. I saw the exedy on ebay w/a flywheel included for under 4bills. Would this be ok for my set up? Or is exedy just a shit brand all around?

no, exedy is a great brand. It's just when comparing these two companies, ACT is better.

If you have little to no mechanical experience, it will be your worst nightmare.

Just like what Westcoaststyle said, the Exedy clutch is fine and will work well with your setup or even the thread creator's future setup, but the ACT is better and you will see that in the price difference.

My concern is that the fucking thing don't fall apart on me. Cause in any case, it will be better than a worn out stock clutch. So with that being said, Schmoo's opionion counts as 2 so 3/5 I'll get the Exedy when the time comes.

Chromeolly is the way to go from what i hear BUT from some people i hear EXEDY Flywheel is better then ACTs Flywheel.
Exedy Racing Flywheel
and
ACT Streetlite 12.5
Im going with the ACT XTSS clutch........can i only use a act flywheel? i can use an exedy right?

Which flywheel do u think is better?
In all honesty especially since I know you're goin turbo, I'd get the Fidanza 7lb flywheel. I have it on my teg, and I'm more or less stock (see my sig for mods) and its been amazing. I haven't had any issues with stalling from it, in fact in parking lots its a dream because I can idle at about 700rpm in 2nd gear without stalling or pushing the clutch in. The added quick revving when accelerating is really fun as well. This is all just IMHO, but yea.... take a look at the Fidanza.

hmm see i ve taken a look at the F7.5lb flywheel and everyone says NOOOO to 7.5lb with a turbo. many have said 10-12
Ill go with ACT XTSS clutch and probably the ACT streetlite.....as long as no one else says the 7.5lb are good for turbos. Near 300HP

Oh, well hmm.... I guess with that much added power you'd rev so fast that if you pushed the clutch in you might get inertial stalling... idk, shmoo would be better at answering this one than myself since I really don't know much about FI setups other than the fact that hopefully one day I'll do the research and install one in my car
