I thought the Fuel Pump wire was the opposite colors.... green with yellow stripe? I could be wrong but when I did this, I just lifted up the panel running beside the driver door where the wires run back, and spliced it there. There were two wires that were similar in color (green/yellow with stripe) and the Yellow with green stripe should be the antenna.

I mounted a switch here for something else and the way they are designed you have to buy a very narrow switch to fit in there. Make sure you pop it out and take it with you when you buy the switch to make sure it fits.

Why don't you just wire it correctly into your head unit?

werd in the winter it will get shredded if I use it. Then I would join join the ranks of the integras and accords with a huge permanent CB-like antenna.

My point is there is a power antenna wire on aftermarket head units that when it is hooked up AS IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE, it will only come up when the radio is on, not when you are listening to CDs. Not a difficult concept, you don't need a switch unless you want to listen to the radio with your antenna down, which would equal only if you want to listen to static.

you don't get it.

some HU's including the stock HU all opwer th antenna as soon as they are powered on-- it's just how different companies do things.

it's also a matter of wether or not you want to take the chance of accidentally putting it up by switching on the radio. there is absoloutely no chance of it going up with the switch in the off position.

also i could get at least 2 or 3 high powered stations within my area witht he antenna down. and two of the three are the stations i listen to so it doesnt always equal static.

yes for almost all HUs there is one "remote turn on" wire is used to turn on amps or any other aux equipment you might have. you need this to be on whenever the there sound coming out of the stereo. Very few HUs have an actual antenna wire. All of the stock honda stereos I know of turn the antenna on whenever the stereo is powered up.
