you don't get it.
some HU's including the stock HU all opwer th antenna as soon as they are powered on-- it's just how different companies do things.
it's also a matter of wether or not you want to take the chance of accidentally putting it up by switching on the radio. there is absoloutely no chance of it going up with the switch in the off position.
also i could get at least 2 or 3 high powered stations within my area witht he antenna down. and two of the three are the stations i listen to so it doesnt always equal static.
