Default 2nd gen boost

Hey, I've got an idea for my 93 LS, but I need to know if it's a bad idea. First off, I want to rebuild my cable transmission with shorter gears, probably the ITRs ratio, or another comparable set of ratios (since there are several). After that, I'd buy another B18AorB engine cuz mine has an assload of miles on it, and then boost it.

My question is, the LS has a pretty low compression ratio, but is it still good to boost, and would the stock tranny (with shorter gears) be okay under that kind of power?

instead of buying another engine, rebuild the current one. itr gears are very short, a little too short for boost. gsr ratio's are short but not very short, so they're a perfect compromise between itr and ls gears.

Shorter gears will always accelerate better than longer gears, boosted or not. The only reason I would see to use longer gears would be to avoid shifting into 5th if you were trapping speeds that exceeded 4th gear redline.

LS blocks are dirt cheap, so if you don't feel comfortable rebuilding your current one, boost it until it blows and just replace it with another one.
