Upper Ball Joint Question
Hi! I´m wondering, that is the upper ball joint removable in ´90 Integra, or do I have to buy the whole upper control arms? The problem is, that my tires go slicks inside, so I have to buy some adjustable system to help that... But here in Finland one place offered me some "adjustable ball joint", and the price was about 50€/each. The other place offered me Eibach´s aluminium-made upper control arms, which are adjustable, but the price is quite high, 215€/each. I´m talking about the front side of the car. IF the ball joint can be removed from the old control arm, is the job unpleasant and difficult, or worth the save of money? Because if I don´t have other options, then I´ll have to buy those expensive control arms...
I´m now about 3 degrees negative on camber-degrees, so I really have to do something... What do you think about this situation, tell me!

Get the control arms like Eibach or Skunk2/Omnipower. The kits that are just balljoint replacements aren't nearly as good.

the factory balljoint is not serviciable without a new upper control arm. there are plaenty of diffrent kinds of adjustable balljoints for your car. was toe (alignment) ever adjusted when you lowered it?
Ok.. No, the alignment (I´m not sure is the word right) hasn´t been adjusted, because it can not be done without those adjustable control arms, I think? At least I think so, and the place which did the measuring of the camber degrees said that I have to buy adjustable control arms so that it can be adjusted.. My friend who has a Prelude said, that in that car the adjustment is already in the standard control arms.. Why couldn´t they do the same for Integra in the manufacturer..
Ok, but at least I think it´s wiser to buy the whole control arms based on your comments... But now the second question; Does someone know, that could the control arms be same in for example Accord or Civic? Because as some of you may know, my Integra is one of the three 2nd generation teg´s in Finland, so all spare part stores and "tuning stores" always try to scheme with the prices because the car is so rare in here. One good example is, that when I asked the rear wheel assembly for it from one store, they said that it must be ordered from U.S. and costs 620€!!! I couldn´t believe it, and I found out that 86-89 Accord has the same assembly, so I found it from a normal spare part store and it cost only 60€.
Also the lower ball joint is the same than in Civic 88-91 and Accord 86-89. (Finland models) So please, let me know if you have the information in this case!

I don't think the prelude came with camber adjustable balljoints. As I said above, I'd get the skunk2/omnipower control arm kit. If you don't need adjustable camber, you can separate the balljoints that go into the shock tower from the OEM control arm. Do you need camber adjustability due to lowering, or are your balljoints in need of replacement?

Hi again! Thanks dubcac for your answers and others too!
I need adjustability only because the car is lowered about 2"-2,5" (coilovers), so camber is totally messed up. The old ball joints are fine, I think, but are unfortunately not adjustable.
And I think there aren´t any other ways to fix this problem, than changing control arms, or is there?

Like I said above, there are 2 types of camber kits out there. The balljoint type kit like Ingalls that uses the factory control arm, and the aftermarket adjustable balljoints. Then you have the Omnipower/Skunk2 type kit with a replacement upper control arm, using the factory balljoints. The control arm kits are much better, and much easier to adjust.

Ok..
Then this thing seems to be quite ready.. Have to buy those control arms then. I must still ask one thing from you Americans; A lot of people from Finland (I mean private persons and some companies also, mostly V8-drivers) order stuff from Summit Racing from U.S. How big company is it, and is it popular in the U.S.? And the prices are quite competitive, am I right? And is it a company that sells only by the list prices, or do they give discounts? Give me a tip if you know also some cheaper, but good place which would be maybe also specialized to Acura parts, and would send packages overseas too! Some companies won´t send at all, that applies mainly body kits. It´s very hard to get special parts from Finland to Acura, because we have never had those cars here on sale, every individual has been delivered from U.S, or Canada. Mine is from Vancouver.
Thanks dudes, I appreciate your help very much!
