All motor is going to cost alot of money to make Hp. $3,000 on a solid turbo set-up > $3,000 on an all motor set-up. It sounds like you need to do more research, after you've done some reading you can take this broad question and make it more sphecific.

Default all engine

May want to first start out with a good, honest, reliable mechanic. I would then sugges the following. Depending on the state of your motor, you may
want to consider rebuilding the bottom end.

Slight overbore/honing .30
New type R pistons and rings
Cams, springs and retainers
Cam gears & belt
ECU upgrade
Dyno & tuning
Good header and intake manifold

Very expenisve, might want to consider a turbo. Good luck.

In order for you to make an informed decision about your power goals, you need to know the basics of how engines work and how you go about making more power from Honda motors specifically.

Go the bookstore or library and get this book.
Read it cover to cover and you'll be set.

Honda / Acura Engine Performance by Mike Kojima.
2002, HPBooks / PenguinPutnam Inc. New York.
ISBN# 1-55788-384-X.

First, forget all you've learned from Gran Turismo.
Cams are not defined by stages.
The key components to a cam are lift and endurance. By itself, a cam with greater lift will open valves further. Also, a cam with greater endurance will keep the valve open for a longer period of time.

In order for those definitions to make any sense, you must know how camshafts and valve play a role in how an engine works.

I agree. I have this book and it has been invaluable to me. I have found a good amount of it inaccurate information in it, but it is a great resource for some basic ideas.

In Kojima's defense, I think a few points of information are out of date -- simply because the game has moved on from the time at which he wrote the book. (Some parts are drawn from his tech articles first published in Sport Compact Car in the late 90's.)

But for anyone who wants to be conversent with the basics of engine tuning and the aftermarket options for the DC/DB/DA Integra, the book is still a worthy resource.

I do agree, however, that Kojima ought to release an 2nd Edition in the near future. Like it or not, the B-series motors hit apogee in 2001; the K-series is clearly where the future of Honda tuning lies.
