Default ABS light comes on when driving

But not at first when i first start up the car. It has to warm up. However, when i step on the brake hard, the ABS works, then i start driving and the light turns on and the ABS becomes disabled and stops working. With my technician "skills" I would think that it would be a wheel sensor, but Im not quite sure. Would this cause the ABS to stop working? Any advice would be appreciated.

Also, I did do a search, and mixed responses were found. But nobody mentioned anything about the wheels locking up once the light was on. This happens because the ABS becomes disabled once the computer finds a problem. Do I have to pull a code? How do I do that?

Yes, pull the code. What year is your car? My psychic powers aren't working today.

As far as how to pull the code, here is an ABS article for 98+.
Team Integra ABS article

Your technician skills sound like guesswork to me. Did you disconnect a wheel sensor? Jump the service connector and post up your ABS diagnostic trouble code for further assistance.

Im not quite sure how to do that. Can I do it myself at my house?? My GS-R is a 95 btw, but its still OBD1

What and where is the service connector? I don't want to mess up something that I dont even know what it is.

You obviously didn't read the article I posted.

If you don't feel comfortable doing this then don't.

i did read it, however, my car is a 95, not a 98-01. Different PCM's. The ABS light doesnt flash at all. The check engine light comes on and doesnt flash either. One of the techs at my work told me that if we jump it, and it stays on, then there are no codes present. Should I do this procedure with the car on? I didnt have enough time at work to figure it out, and the Honda dealer that I stopped by didnt help because they claim they dont kno anything about diagnosing Acuras.

That picture I posted above is from the 94+ Helms service manual, which means the procedure is the same. I would advise you to download the Helms manual if you haven't done so already, there's a bunch of ABS information in there. Here's the link below, look under manuals and parts catalogs. There's a procedure for resetting the ABS light in that manual.

https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...d.php?t=125370

Don't short the connector with the car on, you could blow a fuse if you do. The technician who told you that information is correct. As far as that Honda dealer goes, you should never return there again.

Here's some information I dug up for future reference.

(94-97) ABS DTCs...
1 - ABS pump motor over-run
1 2 ABS pump motor
1 3 high pressure leakage
1 4 pressure switch
1 8 high pressure system
2 1 parking brake
3 1 pulser RF
3 2 pulser LF
3 4 pulser RR
3 8 pulser LR
3 12 different diameter tires
4 1 wheel sensor RF
4 2 wheel sensor LF
4 4 wheel sensor RR
4 8 wheel sensor LR
5 - rear wheel lock - R/L
5 4 rear wheel lock - R
5 8 rear wheel lock - L
6 - fail-safe relay - F/R
6 1 fail-safe relay - F
6 4 fail-safe relay - R
7 1 solenoid - RF
7 2 solenoid - LF
7 4 solenoid - R
8 1 ABS function
8 2 CPU comparison
8 4 IC self-check

ABS reset procedure from TI

1. Short the service check connector (under the glovebox, same one shorted to check engine codes).
2. Depress the brake pedal.
3. Turn the ignition switch ON (II) while keeping the brake pedal depressed.
4. After the ABS light goes OFF, release the brake pedal.
5. After the ABS light comes ON, depress the brake pedal.
6. After the ABS light goes OFF, release the brake pedal.

After a few seconds, the ABS light blinks twice and the DTC(s) are erased. If the light does not blink twice repeat steps 1-6. If the light stays ON after the light blinks twice, check the DTC because a problem was detected during initial diagnosis before shifting to DTC erasure mode.
