I have a turbo on my GSR and I really don’t see any cut down on gas. But then again im not putting it in boost every time I take off from a red light. The only time you use more gas is when you get in boost. more air = more gas. I think its all in how you drive your car. I may put $5-$10 more a month in gas then when I was pre-turbo. and that’s at $2.50 a gallon so that’s only 2-4 gallons more a month. do the math i use 3/4 of a tank a week 4 weeks is 3 tanks a month integra has what an 11 +/- gallon tank. that’s 33 gallons on a bad month that is a 12% increase in gas a month.

So if I run it at 8psi (going to be a daily driver) I shouldn’t have to reinforce any internals? If I get camshafts and gears would they help? (Ignoring pistons) what other things can I do to reinforce the engine for turbo or to get better performance out of it? Would they help at all or would they just be a waste (for my setup)? Would they be more effective if I ran 10psi? And what kind of engine management would be good for this setup and where can I get them? Also what is the difference between a normal exhaust (cat back) to a turbo exhaust (cat back)? Because my friend is telling me that I need to get a turbo exhaust for a turbo, didn’t make any sense to me. Would the Greddy turbo be suitable for what my needs are? will I need a more suitable radiator? or will the stock one do it? Thank You!
exhaust- i am running the down pipe to a hi-flow cat, to stock exhaust (im all about the sleeper). but any 2 1/4" - 2 1/2" cat back will do fine with 8psi turbo. i would geta a hi-flow cat. if your not pushing 13+psi's no need to geta 3" exhaust.

engine management- in the words of shmoo uberdata or hondata, uberdata is on the web for free, just google it. with uber you need to chip your ecu, chip set is about $15. Hondata will run you 350+ and you can find it on the web.

with an engine that old it's always a good idea to do a compression and leakdown test to make sure everything is still good. if those numbers are bad you're looking at a possible rebuild. i would stick with the stock cams but adjustable cam gears would be a good idea for fine tuning on they dyno. hondata is good, aem ems is better. depends on what your budget is and who will be tuning your car. but hondata is fine for most applications. a normal catback is usually 2.25-2.36'' while a turbo catback can be 2.5-3". the bigger you go, the more power you will make but also you will have slightly more lag. how much power are you looking to make? since you are in cali and smog likely pretains to you, the greddy kit is your only option to retain legality. if you want to push your luck and screw smog, try piecing together your own kit. :rick:
