Assuming you have the internals and engine management and tuning to handle that kind of power, I would say yes. I have vaguely seen them but they looked pretty good. Not a good choice for a daily driver though.

If smog legality is a concern, I'd go with the GReddy kits.
If smog won't be an issue, the DRAG kits are decent as well.

The playing field is nearly level, because GReddy is completing the CARB certification process to legalize their smaller (Type 23) intercooler.

BTW..are we talking B18C*, or B18B?
Out of the box with a healthy motor on 91 octane, expect an additional 55 to 70hp.

Do you have any idea when the intercooler will be CARB legal? I have the Greddy kit with intercooler and I have smog coming up in September, so I was just wondering...

I don't know exactly when the I/C will be certified. But given GReddy's track record of CARB-certified kits, I have no doubt that the I/C will be certified.

I have read in print (Honda Tuning) and confirmed with GReddy by phone (last spring) that the Type 23 I/C was submitted to CARB for certification in early 2004.

I recommend giving GReddy a call to get an update on that process.

The certification process with CARB seems to be really vague and is probably rooted more in bureaucracy than in actual science. h:

Isn't the type 32 intercooler the small one and the type 24 the large one?

Anyways, I am not too worried about smog since I have faith in Greddy and I have heard people passing with the intercooler and BOV without any hassles.

the full race kits are kinda spendy. you could probly piece together your own kit for that much. :dunno:

And like the name imples, they aren't for street use. The octane and fueling requirements will be absurd and the powerband will be pretty lousy under 4K or so.

But if you're building a strip-only FWD dragster, little of that matters.
