It would probably be fine but if you are doing a minimal amount of drag racing, there is no reason for such a big turbo. Get a more streetable kit like Greddy or Drag.

Ack! I need to post on this when I have more time.

A) Full Race kits are totally streetable. Nothing more complicated about fueling/octane with them vs any other turbo setup.

B) That stage 1 kit comes with a VERY similar turbocharger as the Drag, RH kits, etc. In fact both the Drag and FR kits come with 57 trims for LS motors last time I checked. There are minor differences, but nothing that would make one streetable and one not.

C) Greddy kits will never be on level playing field as Drag/RH/Peakboost/FR etc. as long as they include that tiny 18g.

D) Its rated to 450hp because thats what that turbo on that motor is capable of generating. The setup surrounding it (including the motor and the EMS) is entirely on your shoulders.

E) If youre building a strip only FWD dragcar, you better be using more than the Stage1 kit! FR kits are great. They are pricey though, but you get good engineering, near flawless fabrication and a well designed kit. That Stage1 kit is designed for street cars.

Anyways, I am not too worried about smog since I have faith in Greddy and I have heard people passing with the intercooler and BOV without any hassles.
Yup, 31 is smaller than the 24. I run the 24 and it's hugified.

I am thinking about the 24 after I pass smog. My current intercooler got attacked by a rock at 80 mph and has a huge crater in it. I don't know if it has a leak but better safe than sorry.

You're damn right you do!

Fine.. I know when I'm beat. h:
I'm sticking to suspension, naturally aspirated and supercharging from now on... you whippersnappers can handle this turbo business.

:chuckles:

Well if in Sept. you'll pass the visual because it is CARB "accepted" but it will probably still fail the sniffer unless it is tuned tits and everything is running perfect, then you might have a good shot. Good luck!!!

I cannot tune anything since I need to have the blue box running in order to pass the test. I would chip out my OBD1 P72 I have lying around but it will immediately fail visual if I am running that ECU. So hopefully, the blue box comes through and passes me. I don't see how the intercooler would effect anything since they are testing it while it isn't moving so it really doesn't do anything besides lengthen the charge piping. The BOV is what I am really worried about though....
