where to shift...
where would the most efficient shift spot be on a 96 gsr, 8100 (factory redline). would it be 8100 each gear or diff spots depending on what gear you are shifting in. also taking off, where would u want to hold ur engine at right be4 taking off, 3000? and when taking off, how do u take off efficiently... hold it at 3000 rpm and just let out the clutch slowly and then floor it?... sry guys, true n00b questions right here.
bounce it off rev-limiter and slam it into gear :goodjob:
nah that wouldnt be very good for your car, run it to redline, then shift there, if you are going for fast etc.
if you are going for fuel economy and the like, you can shift around 3500 and be fine.

I have an LS and never shift past 6000 rpms. The engine doesn't produce power past that, so I don't bother taking it to redline.
I know you have a GSR and I'm not much help. :exnbp:

i would launch on the 1/4 mile anything over 3000RPMs less then that you will bog down, i know on my 01 GS i can launch at about 4500 pretty well and i only get a little chirp from the tires, but you also have a bit more HP and Tq. so id figure around 3500-4000 rpms would do you good
how high you launch depends on your tires, suspension. if you have bad tires and launch too high, you'll just sit there and spin the tires. trust me.
my brother's 96 gsr with the stock tires i would launch at 5K and just sit there and spin, get traction then go. took it down to 4.5k and did a little better. when he had bfg drag radials, i took it up to 6k and they grabbed almost immediately. after being warmed up of course.
practice makes perfect. try different points and see what your car likes.
