how high you launch depends on your tires, suspension. if you have bad tires and launch too high, you'll just sit there and spin the tires. trust me. my brother's 96 gsr with the stock tires i would launch at 5K and just sit there and spin, get traction then go. took it down to 4.5k and did a little better. when he had bfg drag radials, i took it up to 6k and they grabbed almost immediately. after being warmed up of course.

practice makes perfect. try different points and see what your car likes.
