anyone lower their own?
Has anyone lowered their own teg... I know that they have to be realligned later on...but my question is how hard is it to lower your teg on your own with no air tools? I really dont like letting others do work(aftermarket that is) on my car so I am thinking about taking the weekend off and installing some competch sport springs and possible tokiko struts and shocks.
One more question, Do you have to trim the bumbstomps on the front? Comptech recommends it, but I dont know?

i did mine with my friend...well we swapped my car from neuspeed to eibach springs and kept my tokico shocks and that took all of like 30-45 minutes. it's real easy, just make sure u have some Liquid Wrench in case **** is stuck, and a ratchet extension for more leverage. You will also need a spring compressor, lots of places rent them for a small fee or even for free (autozone). as for trimming bumpstops i didn't need to, but u mite have to i dont know.
i lowered my teg with my dad. everything went smoothly except for the seized bolts on the rear LCAs.
you'll need spring compressors, and we did use an impact wrench. torque wrench is a must too.
i'm glad we did it ourselves tho, even though the rear was a bit of a pain. i wonder how a shop would have handled it.. :nono:

I lowered mine without the use of air tools. If I can give you one piece of advice it would be to soak down all your bolts/nuts with some type of penatrating lubricant once a day for 3-4 days. I had no trouble with any bolts being frozen.
I also lowerd my car myself. The front end went smooth as hell, did the front two by myself in about 45 minutes (I work damn slow too
)
The back was a different story, I had a siezed bolt on my rear left LCA, and managed to break the head off the bolt
After trying to drill the bolt out, I just cut the stock shock off and replaced to bushing and the rest was easy
I don't know how old your car is, but mine was a 95, if your car is newer I'm sure it'll go more smoothly.
