I also lowerd my car myself. The front end went smooth as hell, did the front two by myself in about 45 minutes (I work damn slow too )

The back was a different story, I had a siezed bolt on my rear left LCA, and managed to break the head off the bolt

After trying to drill the bolt out, I just cut the stock shock off and replaced to bushing and the rest was easy

I don't know how old your car is, but mine was a 95, if your car is newer I'm sure it'll go more smoothly.
