Just because it is not to 100,000 kms yet does not mean the timing belt is in good shape, I would change it, old and rubber is not a good combo

Replacing the stock HU is a pain. Basiclly you need to take out the glove compartment, remove the center console, then remove the side panels on both sides of the HU. There are two screws in the back of the HU holding it in, you gotta take out those screws and slip the HU out.

At least this is how I did, I think you could reach the screws without removing anything but it would be difficult.

Speakers are easy, there are three screws on the door panel (one is plastic with a plug). Undo those and lift up on the door panel and boom. Make sure you disconnect the power connectors for the mirror, window and door locks.

The back grate panel should come right off for the rear's but to take the rear side panel you gotta start in the trunk and undo all the screws. There is two bolts and another two plastic screws I believe.

Replacing the speakers was a bit tricky cause they required a plastic spacer ring. My Apline type-s' came with the ring but I hear they are the only aftermarket speakers that do. Both the front and rear speakers are 6.5". Hope that helps.

I didn't have to take my glove compartment out.

What the hell are you talking about? You don't have to take the door panels off to change the speakers.

I said in my post you probably wouldn't have to take anything off if you can reach in the back. I just suggested taking anything out that would make it easier.

And how do you replace the front speakers with out taking the door panel off?

As far as suggesting speakers, I love mine. I prefer Alpine to Rockford and would have gotten Alpine type-r dual voice coil subs if they weren't so darn expensive. All my audio is in my sig.

If you want to find out what you like go to a car audio place and play around. They should have a board that lets you test different system set ups.

I think if you take off the speaker cover you have access to the screws.

Even if you did the spacer wouldn't fit through the hole.

Anyways, whatever works, I like to have full access to everything so I don't have to work in such confined spaces, so I take it all apart.

You just pop off the plastic grill over the speaker.

I never needed to use spacers in my old G2, most speakers don't need them.

Well the spacer was necessary for the type-s'. Even with it they touch the back of the well.
