automatic gsr possible?
My wife has 2000 gs stock. She wants "something with a little more kick"
Would it be possible to drop a gsr engine into an automatic gs(she has manual phobia)? I heard somewhere that there were automatic gsr's. Is it possible to come across these engines, and can the gs tranny support the gsr engine. Also what electonic stuff would I need?
Thanks for your patience and helpful info.

The JDM market has automatic GS-Rs, so you'd need like the engine, the ECU, and well, I think that may be it. I dunno if the US B18B and JDM B18C auto transmissions were the same though...
I'd almost look at a JRSC before an engine swap though...

Yes, Auto GSRs were made, RARE to find one though. But uhh....shit....i forgot but some shop found and dropped it into a car. So it is possible. But as for using the tranny from ur car. i not too sure about.

i think for the money, you could find better ways to make power with what she already has.... gs-r swaps arent cheap, for the price of one you could get a turbo kit on it.... or as mentioned before, a jrsc
Getting back to the original topic.... any auto tranny is going to be a poor match to a B18C1's powerband.
And there were no GSR's made with auto transmissions for the US market.
I'd look into headwork and cams for her stock motor first. Or even a Jackson Racing SuperCharger. What you'll need to make an AT-equipped car move is a healthy amount of torque down low....and for that, the JRSC is probably your best bet.
If she's truly interested in performance though, she really ought to get over her phobia of manual transmissions.
