Automatic and sports cars in the same sentence is wrong. If it's a sports car, it is manual. Thus, C-5 convertibles are not sports cars. Don't even waste a B18C1 engine on an automatic car. That would be a sin.

I know a fair amount of autos that would smoke just about any car owned by anyone on this board... it's just that autos are very detrimental to out engine's performance, because autos demand high torque and low RPMs, and all we have to offer is <120 ft/lbs and high RPMs

A Mopar 727 (and any other domestic V8 or better auto) is a little different then a Honda B-series auto. One is built for torque, the other isn't.

there was a JDM GSR auto front clip on ebay last week, selling for like $3800 "buy it now".

id say if she wants more kick put a turbo kit on her GS, and add a auxillery tranny cooler. (change the tranny fluid at every other oil change) and the tranny should last a very long time!

yeah you can, too heavy, too much effort... for the money you can make way more power with what you already have.... and if you're gonna put the effort forth, use an h22 automatic prelude engine....

And? Take those same autos and switch in their manual counterparts and those automatics will be blown away, this is the point we are trying to get across with these vtec engines. You'll never get there true potential which in my opinion isn't much w/o a manual, u'd never stay in vtec.

i beg to ask why you would want a GSR engine in a GS? GSR's meant to be manual due to the high RPM's which produce the power. Auto limits you immensely.
Not meaning to bash just suggesting that you save your money and put it into a possible down payment on another vehicle.
