Thanks guys. I've already tried to get her over it. Trust me.

I'll do some looking into a jrsc. Can I leave the car stock with jrsc with minimal boost?

The closest thing there ever was to an "automatic GS-R" was the Japanese market SiR-G with automatic option.

The Japanese market got autos for everything though, auto B18C's, auto B16A's, auto 13BT's...

No point in doing a swap into an automatic unless u have some sort of manual tiptronic transmission which are crap in my opinion. See the GSR kicks into vtec and makes its maximum power at high rpms. In an automatic u'll never reach it. It would be a waste of time. why do you think vtecs, excuse me, dohc vtecs were made manual, for this reason. Now a days the 97-01 preludes and the base RSXs, accords, and practically the whole Acura line up take advantage of this fact by installing a tiptronic automatic transmission in their new cars. Your best bet is to supercharge because she will significantly loose torque from a gsr installed in an auto, the gsr swap in a auto will actually be slower than the gs. So supercharge, trust me on that!

Would it be possible to drop a gsr engine into an automatic gs(she has manual phobia)? I heard somewhere that there were automatic gsr's. Is it possible to come across these engines, and can the gs tranny support the gsr engine. Also what electonic stuff would I need?

Thanks for your patience and helpful info.
How about an entirely different car? The Preludes are nice and has a decent kick your lady might be lookin for.

lol.

I was only looking at putting a couple thousand into it.

If she wanted a new car then she'll have to get a job. Just try to tell her that.

Were not talking about if an automatic gsr is crap just if its possible...

I've looked into this myself auto gsr's and even type-r's are possible you just cant use the rs/ls/gs auto tranny or you will end up needing a new tranny soon enough...

I thought they made at least a few auto gsr's... could sworn I saw one a couple months back...

you probably saw a dumbass with an LS and thinks its a GSR.

like stated above, the automatic GSR was only available in japan. it is pointless on the b18c1 though

just do a JRSC and she will be happy. and yes, you can keep the engine stock and run low boost and you will be fine.
