this is a lot of fricking work to replace a wheel stud. anyone know if this method works with a 96 teg?

The steering knuckle is that funny-shaped thing with attachment points for the brake caliper, upper & lower ball joints, and steering tie-rod.
The bearing is pressed into the steering knuckle, then the hub is pressed into the bearing. When you press the hub OUT of the bearing, that usually destroys the bearing. So if the outboard bearing cone comes out with the hub, you get to buy a new bearing...
Sometimes the bearing doesn't pull apart. Do ya feel LUCKY??

ok, stop where you are. dont remove anything. get a 5lb hammer and a punch. hit the stud out. get your other one and put in. get a metal tube that will fit over your stud and still leave room to get the lug on the stud. put the metal tube over your stud and thread the lug on the stud. get a hand wrench and twist the lug until the stud has been pulled all the way in. done deal. Dont make things harder then they are.
On my '95 Integra FRONT there's clearly NOT enough room to pound the studs out. There is enough room to do that on the back.
Have you ever removed an axle? Not much more work to remove the knuckle. Take the brake apart & hang the caliper on a wire - DON'T let it hang by it's hose. You undo the big axle nut, the upper & lower ball joints, & the steering tierod ball joint.
