The steering knuckle is that funny-shaped thing with attachment points for the brake caliper, upper & lower ball joints, and steering tie-rod.

The bearing is pressed into the steering knuckle, then the hub is pressed into the bearing. When you press the hub OUT of the bearing, that usually destroys the bearing. So if the outboard bearing cone comes out with the hub, you get to buy a new bearing...

Sometimes the bearing doesn't pull apart. Do ya feel LUCKY??
