vafc pressure wire?
hey guys, i just got an apexi vafc and the installation was ok except for the pressure wires (white and yellow) when i hook those two wires up my car ( 96 gsr) idles funny. the car runs normally but it putts a little bit at idle. the wires i connected to is the 3rd wire from the top right and that threw a CEL right away, so i tried the 4th wire from the top right. that wire was better but caused the weird idle. the reason why i tried both wires is because i found two diagrams. one claming the pressure wire was the 3rd and one saying it was the 4th. do you guys think its the setting on the vafc, or am i just hooking the vafc wires to the wrong ecu wire? i have the yellow wire into the ecu and white to the engine. any help (diagrams) would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jon
Thanks,
Jon
have you checked the wiring diagrams on the apex-i website? When i got the AFC II it came with japanese instructions and all i used was the diagrams from the website. i can look for the link if you need it
Did you use
this diagram of the ECU pinouts when you installed it? You'll want to use the one labeled WH-2. As for the wires themselves, there is another diagram in these instructions (on the page marked 11) that explains where each should go. You might want to double check that everything is wired correctly, and reset the unit.

those are the diagrams i followed, but thanks anyways.
under the graphing display, is it supposed to be set at 760mmHg? and what is Cr: +- 3%? this probably doesnt have anything to do w/ the idle problem but i was jus curious.

You should be fine with those settings. Unless you're boosting it's safe to say you can leave them alone. Besides, you'll get a much more accurate reading from the numerical display. The graphing may be hard to interpret, especially when you're on the fly.
