Default How do you stop the power antenna from going up and down?

how do you stop the power antenna from moving up and down? It's so annoying cuz whenever I turn on my CD player it goes up and I never even listen to the radio.

So whats the easies way this can be done? By the way, I have a 1997 LS if that helps at all.

1) pull the fuse under the dash
2) put an inline switch in
3) get a headunit that will only put the antenna up when switched to radio.

I actually did this to my car this weekend for the vary same reason, it's pretty cool, be careful taking out the screws, there were two (behind the plastic above the ashtray) that I didn't see and I wound up breaking it a little...Let me know if you need help/email advice about it.

Well I am a true ghetto-modder at heart so heres what I did...

Let then antena get up or down, wherever you want it and go back into your trunk, pull the trunk moldings off and pull the plug out of the bottom of the motor...And btw i had mine down, and unpluged it and got almost perfect reception, at least within town

I used to use a switch rigged on the signal line, as previously mentioned.

It can be done in 2 seconds without harming anything......

#1
find out which wire is the pwr/ant wire(this will be online somewhere if not in these forums)

#2
Set the antenna up or down(whichever you prefer) by turning the radio on or off.

#3
Cut the pwr/ant wire and tape the ends. Your antenna will stay put, unless you decide to reconnect the wires or sell the car.
