what's up everyone, I'm new here but not to the import world.
Being very new to turbos I have a lot of stupid questions and I've learned quite a bit about what I'm hoping to be able to pull off from here. But the main questions still has yet to be answered.
I'm looking to create a cheater system for the street, a hidden turbo set up on my ITR swap'd civic. I'm hoping to put a small turbo right after the header under the engine.
my question is, what is a smaller turbo that could be mounted in this location that is capable of producing 5-6psi? (I know the lag is going to be way worse than normal mounting locations if not totally crappy)
also what is the best way to muffle the BOV? I've heard that porting it into the non-boosted part of the intake muffles the noise well, is this true?
lastly, is this even possible? Is it totally stupid or will it even work?

ideas, suggestions, smacks in the forehead, etc are appreciated.
(that sounds wrong, but you know what I mean)

It's going to be pretyt hard to hide a turbo set up if you plan on poping the hood. Cause of the manifold. But anyway. The smaliest turbo that I would run would be a t3, should be pretty good without hardly any lag but full boost would be reached fairly quickly, which might not be something you want. HBut anyway. A good bov to run so u don't hear much would be the HKS racing bov, you can really hear anything from it but it works well.

well the plan is to keep the main intake tube running in the CAI location then back to the turbo, and the piping for it under or inside the subframe to keep it somewhat hidden.
I want it to be stealth to anything other than a close inspection.

Honestly I think that will be a waste of time, just because of everything else your gonna need including wastegate, dp and engine management. You won't be to impressed with the reslut of such a small turbo being you use the t3. I would just either not pop your hood or maybe a supercharger or nitrous.

you can hear a supercharger and NOS is too obvious when you spray. I guess I felt that a turbo would be easier to hide.

It wouldn't be hard if you didn't have to pop the hood. Turbo's are loud to when boost actually hits. Good idea I think, but like I said it will be pretty hard to do it, if your going to pop the hood. I'm sure if you spent a some money you could do it, but I don't think the hp you willget from it will make you happy.

Can't hide a fast car. It might look slow at 1st look (engine closed) but once your on it you'll know. Why do you want to hide a Turbo anyway?

A small turbo will not keep up with massive amounts of air that a C5 can flow. You will have lag at the low end because of your proposed placement (under the car) and you will run out of flow on the top end. This whole setup defeats the purpose and function of a turbo setup. If you want a cheater set up it's a lot easier to do with nitrous oxide. YOu can hide all the plumbing on the underside of the manifold, and hide the bottle. A proper turbo system will not be possible to hide.

A T3 will do well enough, enough for over 250whp tuned on a junkyard setup Scott did in tampa. Any bypass valve will be pretty quiet if you plumb it back in. Hardest thing will be hiding the IC and I wouldn't run it without an IC. Water to Air would be a PITA on a street car and painting one black will make it less visible, but not that hard to see and less efficient at the same time.

It'll still be obvious that it's boosted though and I also see no reason to hide it except maybe for theft related reasons.
