Default OBD conversion question...

I tried searching but couldn't find the exact information I was looking for. I'm helping my friend convert his 99 GSR from OBD2 to OBD1 by swapping in a 95 GSR ECU but one question he asked me about the swap which I was not able to answer was, if whether or not his chip in his key will still be functional? I'm pretty sure the information for a chipped key is in the ECU therefore by swapping the ECU's wouldn't that override the whole chipped key anti theft?

The car isn't going to start if he's only going to throw the jumper and older ECU on.

What would we need to make this conversion happen?

Find someone who can bypass the immobilizer altogether.

Hmm alright would my friend who does alarm installs be able to help? Since he does remote starts on cars with chipped keys. Is bypassing the immobilizer the same method he would use on a remote start?

could you buy a tumbler and key from an older integra and then wire it up?

All you need is the obdI ecu and a obdII B to obdI conversion harness and the new ecu will not have the immobilizer. Easy as that.
