Default 99-00 front end conversion question...

okay, i have a 97 hatchback and i just picked up a 99-00 front end from a coupe (hood, fenders, bumper, lights, grill). i heard it will not completely bolt up unless i modify the radiator supports. is this hard to do? should i take it to a shop? to those who have done this conversion before, what other problems will i run into?

also, does anyone have a link to a site that shows how to paint 99-00 headlights? is it the same as painting 96-98 headlights? cause if so, i have the link for those light. aight, thanks again. peace.

no I'm pretty sure they are bolt on. They sell them as a single replacable peice because the usually get bent in front end collisions. Welding them on at the factory would just complicate collision repairs.

Not to make your decision torn between purchasing a radiator support and not purchasing one, I suggest you get the fenders, hood, and headlights on, then "try" to put the bumper on. Once attempted it will easier to locate exactly what part of the bumper needs to be modified (cut with a small slit) to fit the existing 1996-98 radiator support. The portion that needs cutting is near the upper grille, it is the only screw hole that will not mount directly above a hole. If you need any help send me an IM, I have walked others through it before.

Is the bumper on the 99-00 car different? is it bolt-on on 96-98 cars?
