i had this great idea for an integra engine. recently my ls motor blew. i started thinking, what if i put a vtec head on my ls. since a ls motor has more torque than gsr, how about a LS block with a gsr head. I would have best of both worlds. high torque with good top end. So i could rev it to about 8500 rpms and im thinking put down about 220 hp. does anyone think this is a good idea??? i cant believe i didnt think of this earlier.

 

That's a pretty popular idea, but without some major work, you're not gonna have it run reliably long at 8500 RPM.

They're cheap, but I'd rather have a B18C1 re-sleeved to 2.0L.

Sorry dude, this is in no way a 'new' idea. People have been doing LS/VTEC conversions for years.

It's not a difficult conversion, but it requires some drilling of the block and a DOHC VTEC ECU like a P72 (GSR). Including running of VTEC/VTEC oil press. wires run.

Do a search out here for LS/VTEC. you should get some good info.

 

Ya man, just go on ebay and they already sell Ls/Vtec conversion kits.
