just to fill u guys in, a 98 gsr coupe is only 65 pounds lighter than a 98 LS sedan. 98 LS sedan is actually lighter than the new H/B Si's.

Yep. Pretty much. h:

It wasn't until we figured out how to increase the wear-hardness in the cylinder bores- either through Nikasil reinforcement or cast in liners- that aluminum blocks became as sturdy as iron. But I'm certainly glad the engineers overcame those problems; look at all the benefits an aluminum block I-4 has in a car like the DC Integra.
