haha thanks. just remebered something else he tried to tell me: that engineers were trying to design all aluminum engine blocks and that it had never been done before. its really odd that he says these things, cause he's a smart guy and studied mechanical engineering for 2 years.

Aluminum engine blocks have been common for eons now. Yes, we intially had a hell of a time trying to develop them...but that was back in the early 1970's..
h: I wonder how much this guy was paying attention in class...:eh:

no what it is - he is trying to sound smart whether he knows reality or not. i have a friend a lot like this too.... they just expect you not to know any better and they know that even if you do know they are full of b.s. you wont call them out on it.
i only keep him around cuz he always pays for the beer anytime we go out... you should try this with your friend  i wont call him out cuz i dont wanna jeopardize the free beer :fawk:

The way I figure it, the coupe with 75 lbs of stereo shit in the car on top of their extra body weight evens us out. I'm not that heavy of a guy so my car could easily weigh less than a coupe with a bunch of junk in the trunk. The factory weight maybe 100 lbs difference, but the street weight is way different. Maybe your wheels are heavier than mine and maybe my stereo is heavier than yours. Factory specs make no difference once you start modifying the car. Don't roll up on a 4 door GSR and figure that he weighs more than you so you will be quicker just because at one point they weighed the same. Maybe he took out his spare tire and has lighter wheels on top of the fact that he weighs 50 lbs less than you do. Now who is heavier?
